Acidic buffering capacity and curing process of melamine-urea-formaldehyde resin

Zhongjian Ding et al.

Summary: In this study, MUF resins with different melamine levels were synthesized and their acidic buffering capacity and gel time were measured. It was found that the acidic buffering capacity and condensation reactivity of the MUF resin both affect the gel time, with lower reactivity leading to a greater influence of buffering capacity on gel time. The addition of melamine enhanced cross-linking in cured MF and MUF components but weakened cross-linking in the cured UF component.

Energy transfer in polymers submitted to ionizing radiation: A review

M. Ferry et al.

Summary: This review discusses the formation of excited and ionized species in organic polymers and compounds due to ionizing radiation, and the subsequent energy transfers that lead to defects and gas emission. The influence of various parameters on energy transfer efficiency is evaluated, including polymer composition and irradiation characteristics. Furthermore, studies on energy transfer in molecule mixtures are also presented to account for the complexity brought by polymer structures.
