Developing montmorillonite/PVDF/PEO microporous membranes for removal of malachite green: adsorption, isotherms, and kinetics

Heba Ali et al.

Summary: Montmorillonite clay nanoparticles were hybridized with a PVDF/PEO polymer matrix for the removal of malachite green dye, resulting in a composite membrane with good thermal stability and high adsorption capacity for MG. The adsorption process followed Langmuir model and was rate-limited by chemisorption onto the MMT/PVDF/PEO membranes.

Room-temperature magnetocaloric effect in Fe-substituted CoCr2O4 spinels

Semiramis Gulkesen et al.

Summary: In this study, a series of Co(Cr1-xFex)(2)O-4 compounds were synthesized by sol-gel method, and it was found that magnetic and magnetocaloric properties were significantly altered when Fe ions partially replaced Cr ions in CoCr2O4. After 50% Fe substitution, the material exhibited higher magnetic transition temperature and magnetic entropy change values, making it a potential candidate for magnetic refrigerant applications.
