E-beam induced crosslinking of highly crystalline Nylon 6: Optimization of Triallyl isocyanurate concentration

N. K. Pramanik et al.

Summary: The crosslinking efficiency of Triallyl isocyanurate (TAIC) in electron beam (EB) induced crosslinking of Nylon 6 (N6) has been studied, showing an increase in physico-chemical properties with higher TAIC concentration. A synergistic effect between TAIC and absorbed dose was observed, leading to a decrease in N6 crystallinity. The presence of TAIC was found to predominantly induce crosslinking in N6 under EB irradiation, resulting in decreased water absorption capacity.

Biobased and mechanically stiff lignosulfonate/cationic-polyelectrolyte/sugar complexes with coexisting ionic and covalent crosslinks

Kazunori Ushimaru et al.

Summary: Moldable materials were prepared from lignosulfonate through a combination of ionic and covalent crosslinking, showing comparable mechanical properties to poly(phenylene sulfide). The addition of reducing sugar improved water resistance and adhesive strength of the lignosulfonate complex, expanding its applications in high mechanical stress conditions, water, and biobased adhesives.
