Maternal education and equity in breastfeeding: trends and patterns in 81 low- and middle-income countries between 2000 and 2019

Summary: Our study found that in low- and middle-income countries, there is a relationship between maternal education levels and breastfeeding and formula consumption. In these countries, prevalence of breastfeeding has increased among mothers with lower levels of education, while mothers with higher education levels tend to prefer exclusive breastfeeding.
