Initiation of a Night Float System in an Otolaryngology Residency: Resident Perception and Impact on Operative Volume

Summary: Residents' perception on the implementation of a night float system in an otolaryngology residency program was evaluated and compared to ACGME case log data. Results showed residents with night float system had more positive views on duty hour violations and improvement in patient care and resident education, while remaining neutral on the impact on case volume.
