Clustering of multiple health risk behaviours and association with socio-demographic characteristics and psychological distress among adolescents in Ghana: A latent class analysis

Prince Atorkey et al.

Summary: This study examined the prevalence and clustering patterns of multiple health risk behaviors among adolescents in Ghana. Two clusters were identified - one characterized by poor nutrition, inactivity, and low substance use (91%), and the other as a high-risk cluster (9%). Adolescents in the 11-15 age group were less likely to belong to the high-risk cluster, while those with symptoms of depression were more likely. The study highlights the need for early interventions targeting these clusters to reduce the burden of non-communicable diseases.
