MiR396-GRF module associates with switchgrass biomass yield and feedstock quality

Yanrong Liu et al.

Summary: Research has shown that overexpression of miR396 in switchgrass decreases plant height and lignin content, while PvGRF1 and PvGRF9 play positive roles in improving plant height and G-lignin content.

MicroRNAs play important roles in regulating the rapid growth of the Phyllostachys edulis culm internode

Kai-Li Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that the F4 segment at the bottom of the moso bamboo internode had actively dividing cells and higher levels of auxin and cytokinin, while the F1 segment at the top had lower levels. RNA-seq analysis showed that genes related to DNA replication and cell division were highly expressed in F4. A total of 63 differentially expressed miRNAs (DEMs) were identified, and these DEMs regulated downstream transcription factors and hormonal response genes, with several miRNA-target interactions validated through tobacco co-infiltration.
