Electron phase-space control in photonic chip-based particle acceleration

R. Shiloh et al.

Summary: This article discusses the phase-space control of electron beams in a chip-based particle accelerator and its significance, as well as demonstrates the feasibility of acceleration through nanophotonics. The authors experimentally achieve complex electron phase-space control over extended distances in a silicon-based nanostructure, laying the foundation for the generation and applications of megaelectronvolt electron beams.
