The tensile strength of oxygen-nitrogen solutions was investigated under tension waves, and the temperature dependence of the limiting stretches of the solutions with different nitrogen contents was determined. Experimental data were compared with calculations using classical nucleation theory.
The tensile strength of oxygen-nitrogen solutions has been investigated in tension waves of length 3 mu s with amplitudes to -10 MPa. The temperature dependences of the limiting stretches of solutions with nitrogen contents of 0.25, 0.50, and 0.75 mole fractions have been determined at temperatures from 90 to 130 K. Experimental data have been compared with calculations by the classical nucleation theory.& nbsp;& nbsp;Published under an exclusive license by AIP Publishing.& nbsp;
