Electron FLASH Delivery at Treatment Room Isocenter for Efficient Reversible Conversion of a Clinical LINAC

Mahbubur Rahman et al.

Summary: This study aimed to develop procedures for efficient reversible conversion of LINAC to deliver UHDR beams for FLASH radiation therapy. The measured dose rate and depth dose profiles demonstrated successful achievement of 10 MeV UHDR beams at the treatment room isocenter. The stability of the beam output met clinical requirements, but further investigation of ramp up time and dose monitoring is needed.

Ion collection efficiency of ionization chambers in ultra-high dose-per-pulse electron beams

Rafael Kranzer et al.

Summary: The study investigated the ion collection efficiency of vented ionization chambers in ultra-high dose-per-pulse electron beams, evaluating the impact of chamber design and electric field strength. Experimental results showed that reducing electrode distance and increasing field strength can improve ion collection efficiency and reduce polarity effects.

Implementation and validation of a beam-current transformer on a medical pulsed electron beam LINAC for FLASH-RT beam monitoring

Roxane Oesterle et al.

Summary: The study aimed to implement and validate a beam current transformer as a passive monitoring device on a medical LINAC for UHDR irradiations. Results showed that the device accurately monitored beam parameters, exhibited a linear charge-dose relationship, and demonstrated good stability for both short- and long-term measurements.

Spatial and temporal dosimetry of individual electron FLASH beam pulses using radioluminescence imaging

Mahbubur Rahman et al.

Summary: The study investigated spatio-temporal beam profiling of electron ultra-high dose rate radiation using intensified CMOS cameras. Results showed that Cherenkov emission and radioluminescence imaging were linearly related to dose and independent of dose rate. Scintillation imaging provided more accurate surface dosimetry compared to Cherenkov emission imaging, while additional calibration was needed for Cherenkov-based dosimetry.
