Calculation of fission fragment characteristics for the reactions nth+235U and n14 MeV+235U

V. Yu. Denisov et al.

Summary: The text proposes a model for describing various fission fragment characteristics, including the composition of nascent fission fragments, their yields, and the states at the saddle point. It highlights the crucial role of three-body systems in the fission process and the fusion of α particles with nearby nuclei to form final fragments. The model also shows good agreement between calculated values and experimental data for binary fission of U-235.

Scission configuration in self-consistent calculations with neck constraints

R. Han et al.

Summary: The calculations of potential-energy surface in the fission process are crucial, and in this paper, it is shown that there is no discontinuity in the potential-energy surface when multi-constrained calculations are applied. The study also discusses the importance of neck rupture in terms of nuclear matter density distribution and energy decrease, and examines the properties of the neck in different fission modes.

Nonequilibrium information entropy approach to ternary fission of actinides

G. Roepke et al.

Summary: Ternary fission of actinides can provide insights into the state of the nucleus at scission, with light clusters being produced close to the scission point. By constructing a generalized Gibbs distribution from observed isotopic yields, and taking into account excited states and continuum correlations, yields can be calculated using nonequilibrium statistical methods. Nuclei with mass numbers A <= 10 are well described by nonequilibrium generalizations, while larger clusters are described by nucleation kinetics, with light-charged particle emission serving as an important tool to probe the nonequilibrium time evolution of actinide nuclei during fission.
