DFT study of X-doped (X = Cu, Ag, Au) boron nitride nanotubes for spintronic and optoelectronic applications

A. Kebabi et al.

Summary: This study conducted first-principle calculations on the influence of Cu, Ag, and Au atom doping in boron nitride nanotube structures, revealing that adsorption of Cu and Au atoms can induce magnetization while Ag cannot. The results indicate that the magnetic properties of BNNTs can be modified by appropriate atom doping, making Cu and Au-doped BNNT structures a potential alternative for developing magnetic and optic nanostructures.

Boron-nitride and boron-phosphide doped twin-graphene: Applications in electronics and optoelectronics

Jyotirmoy Deb et al.

Summary: The electronic and optical properties of newly proposed two-dimensional materials '13X (X = N, P) doped twin-graphene' were explored using density functional theory. The formation of these structures is energetically favorable with lower formation energy compared to experimentally synthesized graphdiyne, indicating possible synthesis in the future. The structures were found to be intrinsic semiconductors with tunable band gaps, making them promising candidates for photovoltaic and optoelectronic applications.

The study of neutron capture processes in AlN nanoparticles

T. G. Naghiyev

Summary: The neutron capture processes in AlN nanoparticles were studied using computer modeling, focusing on the separate absorption of neutrons by aluminum and nitrogen atoms. Modeling was done for each stable isotope of Al and N due to differences in effective absorption cross-sections, and effective cross-section spectra for neutron capture by aluminum and nitrogen atoms were compared.
