Characterization of field-evolved resistance to pyridalyl in a near-isogenic line of diamondback moth, Plutella xylostella

Ran Wang et al.

Summary: The study found that a field-collected population of Plutella xylostellahas developed significant resistance to pyridalyl, with even stronger resistance observed after selection. The inheritance of pyridalyl resistance was found to be autosomal and incompletely recessive. A near-isogenic line established from the resistant population exhibited high resistance to pyridalyl with no cross-resistance, but also demonstrated significant fitness costs compared to the susceptible strain. Further research will focus on the mechanism of target-site resistance.

Inheritance mode and fitness costs of clothianidin resistance in brown planthopper, Nilaparvata lugens (Stal)

Ruoheng Jin et al.

Summary: The study found that resistance of Nilaparvata lugens to clothianidin is controlled by multiple genes, exhibiting autosomal and incompletely dominant traits. The resistant strain showed lower relative fitness, significantly increased adult preoviposition period, and significantly decreased total fecundity.

Co-occurrence of subunit B and C mutations in respiratory complex II confers high resistance levels to pyflubumide and cyenopyrafen in the two-spotted spider mite Tetranychus urticae (Acari: Tetranychidae)

Ayumu Maeoka et al.

Summary: This study found that individual mutations of B-I260V or C-S56L alone did not confer high resistance levels to pyflubumide and cyenopyrafen in Tetranychus urticae, but the co-occurrence of these two mutations could result in very high resistance levels. The effects of mutations vary among complex II inhibitors.
