Wide wavelength-tunable passive mode-locked Erbium-doped fiber laser with a SESAM

I Armas-Rivera et al.

Summary: This work introduces a simple polarization-maintaining wavelength-tunable passive mode-locked Erbium-doped fiber laser with a semiconductor saturable absorber mirror (SESAM) as a mode locker. Tunable mode-locking in the range of 1543.2 nm to 1569.5 nm was achieved by thermally adjusting the FOLM wavelength reflection, resulting in output pulses with a repetition rate of 11.16 MHz and a pulse duration of about 0.9 ps. The experimental results were verified through numerical simulations.

PbS Quantum Dots Saturable Absorber for Dual-Wavelength Solitons Generation

Ling Yun et al.

Summary: In this study, fiber-based PbS quantum dots as a saturable absorber were studied for the generation of dual-wavelength ultrafast pulses for the first time. By introducing PbS quantum dots saturable absorber into an erbium-doped fiber laser, the laser was able to simultaneously generate dual-wavelength conventional solitons with central wavelengths of 1532 and 1559 nm and 3 dB bandwidths of 2.8 and 2.5 nm, respectively. The results demonstrate the potential application prospects of PbS quantum dots as broadband saturable absorbers for ultrafast laser generation.
