Effect of dopant gas pressure on the growth of magnetron sputtered CuO thin films for electrical and optical applications

T. Parvathy et al.

Summary: This study utilizes RF magnetron sputtering to obtain high conductivity and optimum bandgap CuO films at room temperature by controlling nitrogen gas pressure. The morphology and structural characteristics of the films are significantly influenced by the nitrogen gas pressure, indicating that the electrical and optical properties of CuO films can be modulated by optimizing the gas pressure.

Effect of post-oxidation processes and thickness of SnO2 films prepared by vacuum evaporation on CO gas sensing characteristics

Amit Kumar Mauraya et al.

Summary: This report discusses the effects of post-oxidation processes and thickness of SnO2 thin films on their physical properties and CO gas sensing characteristics. The results show that SnO2 films produced by direct-oxidation method exhibit higher CO sensitivity, with thinner films showing even higher sensitivity and selectivity towards CO gas compared to step-oxidized films.

Gold-Doped Tin Oxide Film for Highly Sensitive Carbon Monoxide Sensing

Rahul Prajesh et al.

Summary: This paper presents the development of gold-doped tin oxide (SnO2) film, highly sensitive for carbon monoxide (CO) gas, prepared by radiofrequency (RF) sputtering. The gold-doped film showed a significantly enhanced response compared to pristine SnO2, indicating potential for detection of low concentrations of CO gas.

Superior Room-Temperature Ammonia Sensing Using a Hydrothermally Synthesized MoS2/SnO2 Composite

Sukhwinder Singh et al.

Summary: A composite-based strategy was utilized to synthesize a MoS2/SnO2 composite for room-temperature gas sensing of ammonia, achieving high sensitivity and fast response. The composite exhibited superior gas sensing characteristics, durability, reproducibility, and selectivity against various gases such as hydrogen sulfide, methanol, ethanol, benzene, acetone, and formaldehyde. Density functional theory simulations were used to explain the improved response and selectivity of the composite, which also showed long-term stability for monitoring ammonia gas in real fields.
