The photocatalytic overall water splitting hydrogen production of g-C3N4/CdS hollow core-shell heterojunction via the HER/OER matching of Pt/MnOx

Jiaqi Pan et al.

Summary: The MnOx/g-C3N4/CdS/Pt hollow core-shell heterojunction prepared through a continuous chemical-annealing-photoreduction method shows significant enhancement in HER and remarkable performance in photocatalytic overall water splitting, attributed to the remarkable matching of HER/OER process, Pt nanoparticles, high chemical valance manganese ions, g-C3N4/CdS heterojunction formation, and hollow structure.

Dual-sized carbon quantum dots enabling outstanding silicon-based photodetectors

Po-Hsuan Hsiao et al.

Summary: Broadband and reliable photodetectors are in high demand for their potential applications in optical communications, sensing, and photoelectronic switches. This study demonstrated the facile in-situ formation of dual-sized carbon quantum dot films, exhibiting impressive photodetection capabilities with low dark current and wavelength-independent characteristics. The unique features of the dual-size graded CQDs contributed to the high performance and stability of the photodetector design.

Role of Copper Doping in Heavy Metal-Free InP/ZnSe Core/Shell Quantum Dots for Highly Efficient and Stable Photoelectrochemical Cell

Hongyang Zhao et al.

Summary: A controllable Cu shell doping approach has been reported to enhance the optoelectronic properties of InP/ZnSe core/shell quantum dots for high performance and stable solar energy conversion. The Cu-doped core/shell QDs exhibit improved photo-induced electron transfer rate and enhanced photocurrent density and long-term durability. The results suggest that Cu doping in the shell has a significant impact on the optoelectronic properties of the core/shell QDs, potentially opening up new avenues for customized eco-friendly QDs for efficient solar energy conversion.
