Twisted One-Dimensional Charge Transfer and Related Y-Shaped Chromophores with a 4H-Pyranylidene Donor: Synthesis and Optical Properties

Victor Tejeda-Orusco et al.

Summary: Three series of push-pull derivatives with 4H-pyranylidene and various acceptors were designed, including one-dimensional and two-dimensional chromophores. The presence of a 5-dimethylaminothiophene moiety in the derivatives resulted in lower oxidation potentials and blue-shifted UV-visible spectra. Additionally, incorporating an auxiliary donor like thiophene ring led to higher nonlinear optical response and transparency.
