Impact of Medicaid expansion on women with gynecologic cancer: a difference-in-difference analysis

Benjamin B. Albright et al.

Summary: This study utilized a quasi-experimental, difference-in-difference framework to provide unbiased estimates of the impact of Medicaid expansion on women with gynecologic cancer. The findings revealed that Medicaid expansion was significantly associated with gains in access to and timeliness of treatment for nonelderly women with gynecologic cancer. The implementation of Medicaid expansion could greatly benefit women in nonexpansion states, reducing socioeconomic and racial disparities in gynecologic cancer care.
