Summary: A polyethersulfone-titanium dioxide membrane was used to effectively remove micropollutants during the photocatalytic degradation of steroid hormones in a flow-through photocatalytic membrane reactor. The membrane, with its nanoscale size and high surface area, facilitated close contact between the micropollutants and the photocatalytic radicals, resulting in high removal efficiency even at environmentally relevant concentrations.

Summary: Selective removal of pesticides from agro-food streams containing valuable biomolecules similar in size and structure to pesticides is challenging. This study demonstrated that a phosphotriesterase-loaded membrane can selectively degrade paraoxon-ethyl pesticide in vegetative waters from olive mill. The study also identified strategies to improve the performance of the biocatalytic membrane reactor (BMR) for selective pesticide removal.

Summary: This paper outlines the removal efficiencies and mechanisms of EDCs and PhACs by NF based on the analysis of properties of the compounds and membranes as well as some important impact factors. The factors with a significant impact on the configuration of organic pollutants and membranes are summarized. In particular, the influences of natural organic matter (NOM) on the removal of pollutants and membrane fouling are discussed in detail.

Summary: In this study, a three-dimensional flower nanofiltration membrane was prepared by filling a polyamide layer with MIL-101 (Cr) nanoparticles. The presence of flower-like protuberances greatly increased the surface area of the polyamide layer, leading to better water flux compared to pristine membranes. The membrane showed good separation performance for monovalent and divalent salts, indicating its potential for nanofiltration membrane modifications.
