Morphogenesis of the sporoderm of Pollinia of Anoectochilus roxburghii

Yu Qing Chen et al.

Summary: During the development of Anoectochilus roxburghii pollinia, sporogenous cells differentiate to form the outline of the pollinia, and the nucleus and organelles penetrate the cell walls between MMCs. A sporopollenin exine forms on the surface of the pollinia, resulting in bicellular mature pollen with a vegetative cell and a generative cell.
