On the kinetics of the early stage of growth of III-V nanowires

Yuri Yu Hervieu

Summary: The study proposes a kinetic step-flow model for the transition from pedestal growth to nanowire growth in Au-assisted III-V nanowires, demonstrating that the transition occurs due to step bunching at the pedestal top under certain critical conditions. Numerical simulations show a rapid transition to nanowire growth at low temperatures and no transition at high temperatures, consistent with experimental observations.

Tailoring the Geometry of Bottom-Up Nanowires: Application to High Efficiency Single Photon Sources

Dan Dalacu et al.

Summary: The geometry of nanowires plays a crucial role in determining the rate of photon generation and efficiency of photon collection in non-classical light sources. By embedding quantum dots in nanowires with tailored geometries, high efficiency single photon generation with minimal multi-photon emissions can be achieved.

Reconsideration of Nanowire Growth Theory at Low Temperatures

Vladimir G. Dubrovskii

Summary: A growth model is presented to describe the length and radius evolution of nanowires during low-temperature metal-catalyzed or selective area growth, considering surface diffusion transport and radial growth. The growth process is shown to proceed in two steps, leading to a non-linear increase in length with time and radial growth. The nanowire radii converge to a stationary value in the large time limit, showing a size-narrowing effect.
