Spider Web-like Flexible Tactile Sensor for Pressure-Strain Simultaneous Detection

Xue-Feng Zhao et al.

Summary: The flexible dual-parameter pressure-strain sensor designed in this study utilizes a unique 3D tubular graphene sponge component for pressure sensitivity and spider web-like stretchable electrodes for strain sensitivity. This sensor demonstrates great robust compressibility and the ability to effectively monitor both the magnitude and direction of applied force simultaneously. Its potential applications in human-machine interaction show promise in artificial intelligence and wearable systems.

Wearable sign language translation system using strain sensors

Sangmin Lee et al.

Summary: A wearable sign language translation system utilizing a strain sensor is developed to recognize and display hand gestures representing all 26 English alphabets. The system achieves desired sensor performance by using composite materials with carbon nanoparticles added to Dragon skin, allowing for stable piezoresistive characteristics to differentiate hand signs accurately. The wearable system, assembled with strain sensors, enables real-time interpretation of hand signs into English alphabets.
