Chiral Magneto-Optical Properties of Supra-Assembled Fe3O4 Nanoparticles

Qysar Maqbool et al.

Summary: Research on the chiral magneto-optical properties of inorganic nanomaterials has shown enhanced activity in the visible range when using supra-assembled Fe3O4 magnetite nanoparticles at weak magnetic fields of 1.5 mT. The differences in magnetic circular dichroism responses are attributed to crystallinity, lattice distortion near grain boundaries, and dipolar interactions in the supra-assembled structures.

Photothermal Circular Dichroism of Single Nanoparticles Rejecting Linear Dichroism by Dual Modulation

Patrick Spaeth et al.

Summary: Researchers used photothermal microscopy to measure the circular dichroism of single gold nanospheres, adjusting modulation parameters through simulation to obtain a virtually artifact-free CD signal; the study found that the chirality of nominally achiral gold nanoparticles immersed in a chiral liquid was not affected.

Fluorescence-Detected Mid-Infrared Photothermal Microscopy

Minghe Li et al.

Summary: This study demonstrates the utility of fluorescence-detected photothermal infrared (F-PTIR) microscopy in characterizing phase-separated domains within model amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) induced by water sorption. The temperature-dependent changes in fluorescence quantum efficiency sensitively report on localized absorption of mid-infrared radiation. The spatial resolution of infrared spectroscopy in F-PTIR is determined by fluorescence microscopy, enabling high-resolution analysis of chemical composition.
