Summary: TOI-216 is a pair of close-in resonant planets, with the inner planet having a large libration amplitude and orbital eccentricity. The migration of the inner planet must have been halted near its current orbital radius to allow for a convergent migration of the two planets into the resonance. The removal of the gas disk from inside out could have reduced the libration amplitude and increased the eccentricity of the inner planet.
