Multicomponent DHOST analysis in galaxy clusters

Enrico Laudato et al.

Summary: In this work, an extended theory of gravity with additional scalar degrees of freedom is considered. The model is tested as a description of dark energy and also as a description of both dark matter and dark energy. The results show that the model is favored over general relativity for the description of dark energy, but disfavored for the scenario where gravity acts as both dark matter and dark energy.

CLASH-VLT: Abell S1063 Cluster assembly history and spectroscopic catalogue

A. Mercurio et al.

Summary: The impact of environment on galaxy evolution in different mass ranges remains controversial. By studying the spectral properties and positions of specific galaxies in galaxy clusters, it was found that passive galaxies are mainly located in the virialized regions, while emission-line galaxies are accreted into the clusters at later times. Additionally, there is an asymmetric distribution of colored galaxies and post-starburst galaxies in the projected phase-space diagram, suggesting that backsplash galaxies may exist at high positive velocities. Furthermore, low-mass passive galaxies are accreted into clusters before high-mass galaxies, indicating that early-accreted low-mass galaxies may have had time to quench their star formation.

Stacked phase-space density of galaxies around massive clusters: comparison of dynamical and lensing masses

Masato Shirasaki et al.

Summary: This study establishes the relationship between the velocity dispersion of galaxies and galaxy clusters through the measurement of stacked phase-space density and halo-model approach, validated with actual samples. The results confirm the consistency between the observed galaxy velocity dispersion in clusters and predictions from dark-matter-only N-body simulations under General Relativity. Moreover, tight constraints on the effective gravitational constant at length-scales of a few Mpc approximately 2.5 Giga years ago are obtained based on the velocity dispersion measurement.
