Synthesis of radioactive elements in novae and supernovae and their use as a diagnostic tool

J. Isern et al.

Summary: Novae and supernovae are important in Astrophysics and Cosmology, but there is still lacking accurate description about their explosions. The explosions are main suppliers of newly synthesized chemical elements, and radioactive isotopes can be used as diagnostic tools. However, the poor sensitivity of detectors in MeV energy domain poses challenges in detection, emphasizing the need for new instruments with higher sensitivity.
