Is the structural relaxation of glasses controlled by equilibrium shear viscosity?

Ricardo Felipe Lancelotti et al.

Summary: The study focused on the structural relaxation kinetics of lead metasilicate glass, showing that the structural relaxation process is not controlled by isostructural viscosity and equilibrium shear viscosity only provides a lower boundary for structural relaxation kinetics.

The relaxation behavior of supercooled and glassy imidacloprid

A. Mansuri et al.

Summary: This study investigates the molecular dynamics of imidacloprid using dielectric spectroscopy, oscillatory shear rheology, and calorimetry, revealing that the molecular dynamics in its glassy state strongly depends on its thermal history. The research shows that different methods predict different relaxation times, indicating the complexity of imidacloprid's behavior in technological applications.

Translational and reorientational dynamics in deep eutectic solvents

Summary: Research found a close coupling between ionic and molecular motions in typical deep eutectic solvents, but in some cases decoupling is possible. In addition, at low temperatures, the ionic conductivity of certain deep eutectic solvents is significantly enhanced.

Rheology based estimates of self- and collective diffusivities in viscous liquids

C. Gainaru et al.

Summary: The self-diffusion coefficient of viscous liquids was estimated based on rheological shear spectra. The results showed systematic differences compared to directly measured diffusivity data, and these differences were discussed in terms of mechanical Haven ratios.

The relationship between charge and molecular dynamics in viscous acid hydrates

S. Ahlmann et al.

Summary: This study employs oscillatory shear rheology to investigate the structural rearrangements of sulfuric acid tetrahydrate and phosphoric acid monohydrate, revealing different effects of protonated and deuterated forms on charge transport. The results suggest that the conductivity relaxation profiles of acid hydrides resemble classical ionic electrolytes, highlighting the complexity of viscoelastic responses in different materials.

Isothermal Crystallization and Time-Temperature Transformation of Amorphous Nifedipine: A Case of Polymorphism Formation and Conversion

Sixue Cheng et al.

Summary: Crystallization of nifedipine from the supercooled liquid state was studied using rheological and differential scanning calorimetry measurements. The induction and completion times obtained from both methods were used to construct a time-temperature-transformation diagram for nifedipine, and the solid-liquid interfacial surface tension was estimated. The results from both DSC and rheological methods were consistent, showing the nucleation process of nifedipine and estimating the heat of fusion of gamma'-NIF.

Tuning Negative Capacitance in PbZr0.2Ti0.8O3/SrTiO3 Heterostructures via Layer Thickness Ratio

Yifei Hao et al.

Summary: Controlling the ferroelectric polarization and transient negative capacitance state can be achieved by adjusting the ferroelectric-dielectric layer thickness ratio. The system undergoes an abrupt transition at a critical ratio of 8 to 7, consistent with the evolution of the free-energy profile. The emergence of a multidomain state is observed below the critical ratio.
