Ultrasound of shoulder and knee improves the accuracy of the 2012 EULAR/ACR provisional classification criteria for polymyalgia rheumatica

Kei Kobayashi et al.

Summary: This study found that ultrasound assessment of the shoulder and knee can help differentiate polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) from other differential diagnoses and improve the accuracy of the classification criteria for PMR. The presence of tendon/ligament-related lesions in both shoulder and knee was identified as the most important factor in classifying PMR.
