Biocompatible dextran-coated gadolinium-doped cerium oxide nanoparticles as MRI contrast agents with high T1 relaxivity and selective cytotoxicity to cancer cells

A. L. Popov et al.

Summary: A new type of theranostic MRI contrast, dextran stabilised gadolinium doped cerium dioxide nanoparticles, has been shown to possess excellent colloidal stability and high r(1) relaxivity. They demonstrate dose-dependent selective cytotoxicity to cancer cells, making them a promising option for safe and effective MRI imaging.
