The influence of modes of spark plasma sintering (SPS) on the structure and properties of a self-fluxing powder material of the Ni - Cr - Si - B - C system has been studied. The study determined that it is possible to obtain an alloy with minimum porosity and maximum microhardness and wear resistance.
The influence of modes of spark plasma sintering (SPS) on the structure and properties of a self-fluxing powder material of the Ni - Cr - Si - B - C system is studied. The structure and the phase composition of specimens are determined using optical and scanning electron microscopy. The porosity and the microhardness of the material are measured. Tribotechnical tests of the specimens are conducted under the conditions of friction against fixed abrasive particles. The parameters of the SPS of PR-N77Kh15S3B2 powder providing a Ni - Cr - Si - B - C alloy with minimum porosity and maximum microhardness and wear resistance are determined.
