Magnetic resonance tracking of copper ion fixation on the surface of carboxylated nanodiamonds from viewpoint of changes in carbon-inherited paramagnetism

Vladimir Yu Osipov et al.

Summary: In this study, it was found that the surface of nanodiamonds can be modified to form copper chelate complexes by copper ions. The concentration of these complexes can be monitored using electron paramagnetic resonance method through the signal width and shape.

PVP-coated Gd-grafted nanodiamonds as a novel and potentially safer contrast agent for in vivo MRI

Alexander M. Panich et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that saline suspension of PVP-coated gadolinium-grafted detonation nanodiamonds (DND) serves as a promising contrast agent in MRI, providing higher signal intensities than the commonly used gadoterate meglumin. This novel contrast agent shows potential for safer clinical use based on its performance in ex vivo and in vivo testing.

Gadolinium-Complexed Carboxylated Nanodiamond Particles for Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Lymphatic System

Kosaku Yano et al.

Summary: In this study, carboxylated nanodiamond (CND) particles were successfully utilized as alternative platforms for condensation with gadolinium complexes, resulting in the fabrication of Gd-DTPA-CND particles with a hydrodynamic diameter of around 4-5 nm and excellent MRI visibility. These nanoparticles can become practical MRI contrast agents for selective MR imaging of the lymphatic system.
