This study analyzes the scattering of Love-type waves in a composite structure and investigates the effects of the upper layer's piezoelectricity parameters on the scattered waves.
The present analysis adduces the scattering of Love-type wave in a composite structure comprised of an irregular porous piezoelectric layer nested on a porous piezoelectric substrate. The dispersion equation for the scattering of Love-type waves in the aforesaid composite structure have been derived. The impacts of the parameters associated with the piezoelectricity of the upper layer on the phase and group velocities are also observed. The effect of vertical irregularity parameter, piezoelectricity of upper layer, and porosity of the upper layer on the reflected mechanical displacement and electrical potential functions (for both solid and fluid phases) have also been examined.
