Bearing incipient fault feature extraction using adaptive period matching enhanced sparse representation

Renhe Yao et al.

Summary: In this paper, an adaptive period matching enhanced sparse representation (APMESR) algorithm is proposed to effectively extract incipient bearing fault features. The algorithm utilizes a novel methodology for estimating the period of faulty impulses and employs maximal overlap discrete wavelet packet transform for noise reduction and highlighting periodic impulse signatures. Experimental results demonstrate the superiority of APMESR in comparison to other advanced methods.

Multi-synchrosqueezing S-transform for fault diagnosis in rolling bearings

Xiaoxia Zheng et al.

Summary: This paper proposes a new TF algorithm, the multi-synchrosqueezing S-transform, which can provide a better representation of the time-frequency features of rolling bearings; By using Renyi entropies to measure the resolution of TFA and determine iteration, this method can achieve a better time-frequency representation with fewer iterations.

Maximum average kurtosis deconvolution and its application for the impulsive fault feature enhancement of rotating machinery

Kaixuan Liang et al.

Summary: A new blind deconvolution method, MAKD, is proposed in this paper to address the issue of poor performance of conventional methods in certain situations. The method utilizes average kurtosis as the objective function, highlighting periodic impulse signals and showing robustness and compatibility with variable speed conditions. Simulation analysis and experimental cases are used to demonstrate its superior performance.

A novel Fast Entrogram and its applications in rolling bearing fault diagnosis

Kun Zhang et al.

Summary: The Fast Kurtogram is a traditional method for spectrum segmentation analysis, but its use of the binary tree filter bank method to obtain the center frequency and bandwidth is fixed. This paper proposes a new spectrum segmentation method - the Fast Entrogram, which can accurately filter fault information from the frequency domain. By processing the spectrum through Fourier transform and using the frequency slice function to extract different frequency bands, better filtering effects can be achieved than using finite impulse response filters.

An enhanced sparse representation-based intelligent recognition method for planet bearing fault diagnosis in wind turbines

Yun Kong et al.

Summary: Fault diagnosis techniques are crucial for the condition-based maintenance strategy of wind turbines, especially for challenging components like planet bearings. The proposed enhanced sparse representation-based intelligent recognition (ESRIR) method achieves superior recognition accuracy by utilizing structured dictionary designs and intelligent fault recognition. Validated on a wind turbine test rig, ESRIR outperforms other methods in terms of recognition accuracy and computation costs.
