Summary: In conventional fault diagnosis systems design, little attention is usually given to selecting parity vectors. This article proposes novel approaches for deriving optimized residual generators by selecting parity vectors for linear and nonlinear systems. By analyzing the parity space dimension, a new parameterization for all parity relation-based residual generators is introduced, and an iterative procedure is used to search for optimal parameters.

A Comprehensive Case Study of Data-Driven Methods for Robust Aircraft Sensor Fault Isolation
