Preparation of ZnO-carbon quantum dot composite thin films with superhydrophilic surface

Mohammad Zirak et al.

Summary: The study investigated the effects of different parameters such as CQDs concentrations, substrate temperatures, nozzle-substrate distances, and post-annealing on the structure of CQDs-ZnO composite thin films. It was found that these parameters significantly influenced the optical, morphological, and surface properties of the thin films. The diffusion and evaporation of CQDs during deposition and annealing processes played a key role in determining the final morphology and optical transmittance of the thin films.

Long-term-stable WO3-PB complementary electrochromic devices

Kun Wang et al.

Summary: The use of acetic acid as a super-additive solution improves the performance of WO3 cathodes and stabilizes PB anodes in complementary electrochromic devices. The synergistic effects of Li+ and H+ contribute to the enhancement of electrochemical, electrochromic, and cycling stability performance of the whole device. This approach opens up a new way for the construction of high-performance electrochromic devices.

Enhancement of Nonlinear Absorption in Defect Controlled ZnO Polycrystalline Thin Films by Means of Co-Doping

Bekir Asilcan Unlu et al.

Summary: The structural, optical, and nonlinear optical absorption properties of ZnO polycrystalline thin films were investigated, showing different bandgap energy shifts depending on doping methods and significant reduction in grain size with co-doping. A theoretical model incorporating various absorption mechanisms was used to analyze transmission data, extracting saturation intensities and effective nonlinear absorption coefficients. ZnO:(Al, Co) was found to have the highest saturation intensity threshold and effective nonlinear absorption coefficient due to its smallest bandgap energy and highest Urbach energy.

Summary: An alternative facile method integrating electro-exploding wire and spray coating techniques is demonstrated for applications in large size ECDs. The varied size distribution of WO3 nanomaterials is achieved by changing the exploding voltage. The WO3 NM films prepared at a high exploding voltage and a high substrate temperature present a higher electrochemical stability for over 1000 cycles.
