Antibacterial evaluation and molecular docking studies of pyrazole-thiosemicarbazones and their pyrazole-thiazolidinone conjugates

Oluwakemi Ebenezer et al.

Summary: A library of pyrazole-thiazolidinone conjugates was synthesized using a Vilsmeier-Haack reaction, and tested for antimicrobial activity against various Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. Compounds 3a and 4b emerged as the most potent antimicrobial compounds with minimum bactericidal concentrations of < 0.2 µM. Molecular docking studies suggested these compounds interacted with their targets through hydrogen bonding.

Discovery of novel antibacterial agents: Recent developments in D-alanyl-D-alanine ligase inhibitors

Yinhui Qin et al.

Summary: Bacterial infections pose serious threats to public health, leading to the need for novel antibacterial agents. D-alanyl-D-alanine ligase (Ddl) is a crucial bacterial enzyme involved in peptidoglycan biosynthesis, making it a promising target for antibacterial drug development.
