Effective Link Prediction with Topological and Temporal Information using Wavelet Neural Network Embedding

Xian Mo et al.

Summary: Temporal networks involve evolving edges over time, and link prediction in such networks can be achieved by inferring new edges based on a sequence of network snapshots. This paper presents a graph wavelet neural network framework that utilizes both topological and temporal features for link prediction in temporal networks. The proposed approach combines first-order and second-order weights in a weighted graph, with a damping factor to assign greater weights to more recent snapshots, ultimately resulting in effective link prediction.

DeepEC: Adversarial attacks against graph structure prediction models

Xingping Xian et al.

Summary: Inspired by the importance of graph structured data, link prediction has gained significant attention and applications, but recent studies indicate vulnerability of machine learning-based systems to adversarial attacks. A deep architecture-based adversarial attack method called Deep Ensemble Coding is proposed to uncover weaknesses in link prediction methods and develop robust solutions. Comprehensive experiments on real-world networks show satisfactory performance of the proposed attack method and reveal vulnerability of state-of-the-art link prediction algorithms to adversarial attacks, serving as an evaluation for constructing robust methods.

Reconciling Multiple Social Networks Effectively and Efficiently: An Embedding Approach

Zhongbao Zhang et al.

Summary: Recently, there has been significant attention on reconciling social networks and identifying accounts belonging to the same individual across different platforms. Existing studies have limitations in terms of multiplicity, comprehensiveness, and robustness. To address these limitations, the paper proposes two frameworks, MASTER and MASTER+, that robustly and comprehensively reconcile multiple social networks, outperforming existing approaches. MASTER+ further enhances efficiency by grouping accounts into clusters and performing reconciliation in parallel.

Learning disentangled user representation with multi-view information fusion on social networks

Wenyi Tang et al.

Summary: User representation learning is a critical task in social network analysis, with the proposed adversarial fusion framework utilizing multi-view information for robust and interpretable user representations. The framework includes a generator and discriminator, with the generator using a variational autoencoder to capture and disentangle latent factors behind user intentions. Extensive experiments on both synthetic and real-world datasets demonstrate the superiority of the proposed model.

Susceptible user search for defending opinion manipulation

Wenyi Tang et al.

Summary: The development of cyberspace has led to convenient online communication, but also brought about the issue of malicious manipulation of user opinions. In order to defend against this manipulation, the design of an intelligent search strategy is crucial. The research combines unsupervised learning and heuristic search to find susceptible and key users for defense, demonstrating significant improvement over existing algorithms in real-world experiments.

Towards link inference attack against network structure perturbation

Xingping Xian et al.

Summary: The increasing popularity and diversity of social media sites have led to the emergence of a growing number of social networks, which serve as a source of information for researchers and advertisers to understand user social activities. Various network structure perturbation methods have been proposed to protect sensitive user data, but there is currently a lack of robustness studies on link prediction-based hidden inference structure methods.

Summary: Studying the optimal network structure for the susceptible-infected-susceptible type of dynamics on annealed networks reveals that the optimal degree distribution varies for different infection rates in terms of quantity and support range. Additionally, the heterogeneity of the optimal networks decreases with the infection rate.
