The X-ray emission of cerium oxide

J. G. Tobin et al.

Summary: By combining spectral simulation with FEFF and experimental data, the Cerium Oxide-only M-4, M-5 X-ray Emission Spectrum (XES) has been extracted from an experimental result using a combined CeOxide/Ce sample. The XES emission for CeOxide-only shows significant differences at the M-4 and M-5 edges, with the M-4 XES consistent with normal XES and the M-5 XES exhibiting a continued enhancement connected to Resonant Inverse Photoelectron Spectroscopy (RIPES).

Features of actinide contraction in AnX crystals (X = S, Se or Te)

Viktor N. Serezhkin et al.

Summary: Using Voronoi-Dirichlet polyhedra, the features of actinide contraction in chalcogenides AnX were studied and compared to isostructural lanthanide chalcogenides LnX. It was found that there are nonlinear changes in some characteristics of AnX crystals with increasing atomic number of An, attributed to bonding 5f interactions. This crystal-chemical method can be used to evaluate the covalence of An-X and Ln-X bonds.
