Summary: The addition of aluminum significantly impacts the microstructure, hardness, wear resistance, and corrosion resistance of AlxCrFeCoNiCu HEA coatings. Among these coatings, Al0.8CrFeCoNiCu exhibits the best wear and corrosion resistance, making it the most suitable choice for enhancing the surface properties of aluminum alloys.

Significant reduction in friction and wear of a high-entropy alloy via the formation of self-organized nanolayered structure

Lu Yang et al.

Summary: The study demonstrates that a (CoCrFeNi)(90)Ag-10 high-entropy alloy with a low stacking fault energy (SFE) matrix and uniformly dispersed Ag precipitates shows a significant reduction in friction and wear through the spontaneous formation of nanolayered subsurface microstructure. This finding suggests a novel approach for designing high-entropy alloys that can achieve low friction and wear.

Microstructure stability during high temperature deformation of CoCrFeNiTa eutectic high entropy alloy through nano-scale precipitation

Naishalkumar Shah et al.

Summary: The study focused on the CALPHAD guided design of a hypo-eutectic high entropy alloy with a dual-phase microstructure, which exhibited excellent high-temperature mechanical properties. The addition of alloying elements and thermal effects led to the formation of multiple fine precipitates, extending the usable temperature range of the alloy. Under room temperature conditions, the alloy showed good mechanical performance and at high temperatures, there were various kinds of precipitates in the FCC solution phase.
