Combined thermal analysis of plant oils

Kinga Tamasi et al.

Summary: This paper studies the properties of seven natural plant oils at low temperatures using DSC, DMA, and TSD methods, finding that most oils are in a glassy state with multiple transitions in the low temperature range. DMA and TSD were found to be more sensitive than DSC, showing at least two transitions between -120 and -40 degrees C. TSD observed current reversal in three oils, which remains unexplained.

Comprehensive Thermal Characteristics of Different Cultivars of Flaxseed Oil (Linum usittatissimum L.)

Jolanta Tomaszewska-Gras et al.

Summary: This study aimed to describe the thermal properties of selected cultivars of flaxseed oil using the DSC technique. Findings revealed characteristics of crystallization and melting profiles, as well as the influence of temperature and heating rate on the stability of flaxseed oil during thermal oxidation. Negative correlations were observed between unsaturated fatty acid content and thermal properties.
