Measurements of critical properties of ethyl propionate with the gasoline components

Tian Lan et al.

Summary: The addition of ethyl propionate improves the critical temperature of some fuels while decreases that of others, forming positive azeotropes. The critical pressure of all systems changes linearly with the concentration of ethyl propionate. Various equations were checked for their applicability.

Measurements of isochoric specific heat capacity for 3,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene (R1243zf) at temperatures from (250 to 300) K and pressures up to 10 MPa

Li Ding et al.

Summary: This paper presents a study on the isochoric specific heat capacity data of 3,3,3-trifluoroprop-1-ene at various temperatures and pressures, comparing experimental results with calculations from three different equations. The corresponding states equation by Sheng et al. demonstrated the best predictive performance for the liquid heat capacity of R1243zf among the three equations.

General models for prediction densities and viscosities of saturated and unsaturated fatty acid esters

Sa Xue et al.

Summary: The study developed prediction models for density and viscosity of fatty acid esters based on their molecular structure, finding that the properties are influenced by temperature, pressure, and molecular structure. Different models were proposed for various types of fatty acid esters with low average absolute relative deviations.

Improving the viscosity and density of n-butanol as alternative to gasoline by blending with dimethyl carbonate

Xiangyang Liu et al.

Summary: In this study, DMC was used as an additive to reduce the viscosity of n-butanol, resulting in a significant decrease in viscosity and an increase in density, which is expected to improve the performance of n-butanol as an alternative to gasoline. The dependencies of density and viscosity improvements on temperature and pressure were investigated to guide the optimization of combustion processes. Two models were proposed for calculating the viscosities and densities of the binary mixtures of DMC and n-butanol with good accuracy.
