Effect of Stick - Slip Phenomena between Human Skin and UHMW Polyethylene

Emad Kamil Hussein et al.

Summary: This study experimentally investigates the effect of applied load and different velocities on the coefficient of friction between different interacting surfaces under static and dynamic friction conditions. An analytical model for stick-slip phenomena and its amplitude is proposed. The results show that the friction coefficient varies with normal load and low sliding velocity.
