Mixed Silane-based Self-assembled Monolayers Deposited on Fluorine Doped Tin Oxide as Model System for Development of Biosensors for Toxin Detection

Inga Gabriunaite et al.

Summary: Mixed hybrid phospholipid bilayers (mhBLMs) were successfully deposited on fluorine doped tin oxide (FTO) films, triggered by two component silane-based self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) which resulted in stable and easily regenerated mhBLMs. The functional properties of mhBLMs were found to be influenced by the chemical and physical conditions under which mixed SAMs are fabricated, demonstrating potential biological relevance in biosensors for toxin detection.
