Predictors of return visits to the emergency department among different age groups of older adults

Lucas Oliveira J. e Silva et al.

Summary: This study aimed to identify predictors of 30-day emergency department return visits in patients aged 65-79 years and over 80 years. The results showed that a history of congestive heart failure, dementia, or prior hospitalization within 2 years were associated with increased odds of returning to the ED within 30 days in both age groups. Being admitted from the ED was associated with decreased odds of returning within 30 days.
