Colloidal Metal-Halide Perovskite Nanoplatelets: Thickness-Controlled Synthesis, Properties, and Application in Light-Emitting Diodes

Clara Otero-Martinez et al.

Summary: Colloidal metal-halide perovskite nanocrystals have gained attention for their exciting properties and tunable emission range. However, they are limited by light-induced halide phase segregation. By controlling the thickness, monolayer nanoplatelets with narrow emission peaks and high radiative recombination can be synthesized, making them ideal for efficient LEDs.

Transformation of Metal Halides to Facet-Modulated Lead Halide Perovskite Platelet Nanostructures on A-Site Cs-Sublattice Platform

Suman Bera et al.

Summary: The conversion of metal halides to lead halide perovskites with B-site metal ion diffusion has been a convenient method for obtaining shape-modulated perovskite nanocrystals. This study reports on the slower diffusion of Pb(II) leading to facet-modulated CsPbBr3 platelets, by exploring the tetragonal phase of Cs7Cd3Br13 platelets as the parent material. Microscopic observation and density functional theory calculations helped to monitor and predict the phase transformation, while different facet-modulated and hollow CsPbBr3 platelet nanostructures were obtained by tuning the reaction chemistry. These platelets with different facets were also investigated for catalytic CO2 reduction, and their catalytic rates were compared.

Cs-Lattice Extension and Expansion for Inducing Secondary Growth of CsPbBr3 Perovskite Nanocrystals

Sumit Kumar Dutta et al.

Summary: The study focuses on the increased stability of perovskite nanocrystals when exposed to polar media, layers growth, or shelling with different materials, and reports a secondary growth approach that successfully creates a secondary lattice on preformed CsPbBr3 perovskite nanocrystals. By extending Cs lattice to the preformed CsPbBr3 nanocrystals and coupling CsBr to these nanocrystals, lead halide perovskite nanocrystals can be epitaxially grown, allowing for more complex and heterostructures to be fabricated.

Multidentate Ligand Polyethylenimine Enables Bright Color-Saturated Blue Light-Emitting Diodes Based on CsPbBr3 Nanoplatelets

Wenxu Yin et al.

Summary: The study showed that using a multidentate ligand polyethylenimine (PEI) can stabilize and enhance the solid-state blue photoluminescence of lead halide perovskite CsPbBr3 nanoplatelets, preventing their coalescence and reducing trap state density. LEDs based on this method exhibit high brightness and high photoluminescence quantum yield.

Chemically Spiraling CsPbBr3 Perovskite Nanorods

Suman Bera et al.

Summary: Spiral CsPbBr3 perovskite nanorods with unique anisotropy were synthesized in this study, controlled by manipulation of alkylammonium ions composition. These nanorods were explored as photocatalysts for CO2 reduction, and it was found that the evolution of methane was dependent on the depth of the spiral nanorods. The study demonstrates that facet manipulation of complex nanorods is possible, suggesting that perovskite shapes can be constructed by design with proper reaction manipulation.

Introducing B-Site Cations by Ion Exchange and Shape Anisotropy in CsPbBr3 Perovskite Nanostructures

Biswajit Hudait et al.

Summary: Researchers have successfully synthesized anisotropic perovskite nanocrystals with tailored shapes and unique properties using derivatives of alpha-bromo ketones. It is theorized that the directional growth of anisotropic perovskite nanocrystals may depend on the structure of the parent lattice, rather than following specific growth rules.
