A two-step solvothermal procedure to improve crystallinity of covalent organic frameworks and achieve scale-up preparation

Xiang-Hao Han et al.

Summary: This study introduces a two-step solvothermal process to enhance the crystallinity of COFs, focusing on polycondensation of monomers in the first step and facilitating crystallization of COFs through appropriate solvothermal conditions in the second step. This strategy can also be applied to scale-up synthesis of high quality COFs, laying a foundation for practical applications.

Flexible, Mechanically Stable, Porous Self-Standing Microfiber Network Membranes of Covalent Organic Frameworks: Preparation Method and Characterization

Chenhui Ding et al.

Summary: Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) with fiber morphology were prepared for the first time using a template-assisted framework process, demonstrating high crystallinity, large surface area, good mechanical stability, excellent thermal stability, and flexibility. This study opens up the possibility of preparing large dimension COF membranes and their derivatives in a simple way for future technical applications in separation, catalysis, and energy.

Dual metal nanoparticles within multicompartmentalized mesoporous organosilicas for efficient sequential hydrogenation

Houbing Zou et al.

Summary: The study presents a multicompartmentalized mesoporous organosilica material for spatial co-localization of metal nanoparticles, resulting in a significant enhancement in activity for sequential hydrogenation reactions. The revealed mechanism of neighboring metal-assisted hydrogenation via hydrogen spillover contributes to the enhanced catalytic efficiency in the designed cascade catalyst.
