Pressurized liquid extraction of radish seed oil using ethanol as solvent: Effect of pretreatment on seeds and process variables

Bruna Tais Ferreira de Mello et al.

Summary: The study investigated the extraction of oil from radish seeds using pressurized ethanol, finding that thermal treatment post-immersion increased oil yields. An ethanol flow rate of 3 mL min(-1) and a static time of 10 min promoted oil diffusion. Extraction at higher temperatures resulted in higher oil fraction.

Evaluation of favela seed oil extraction with alternative solvents and pressurized-liquid ethanol

Katia Andressa Santos et al.

Summary: This study demonstrated that ethanol was the most effective solvent for extracting oil from favela seeds, providing high oil yield and antioxidant activity. The pressurized-liquid extraction method at high pressure and different temperatures also showed good results in oil extraction, with similar fatty acid profiles and important components as oils extracted by Soxhlet method.
