Ag/BiOI/C enhanced photocatalytic activity under visible light irradiation

Xiuna Yu et al.

Summary: The Ag/BiOI/C composite photocatalyst synthesized by high-temperature tube furnace calcination method exhibited superior photocatalytic performance in removing methylene blue dye under visible light exposure. The synergistic effect of Ag and C enhanced the separation of photo-induced electron-hole pairs and suppressed their recombination, with O-2(-) and h(+) playing a major role in the degradation of methylene blue. A possible mechanism for the novel photocatalyst was proposed based on trapping experiments.
