Boosting optical and electrical characteristics of polyvinyl alcohol/carboxymethyl cellulose nanocomposites by GNPs/MWCNTs fillers as an application in energy storage devices

Mymona Mohsen Abutalib et al.

Summary: The study focused on manufacturing polyvinyl alcohol and carboxymethyl cellulose films containing graphene nanoplates (GNPs)/MWCNTs to enhance optical, dielectric, and electrical properties. X-ray diffraction analysis highlighted the interaction between blend chains and GNPs/MWCNTs, showing a decrease in semicrystallinity with increasing GNPs/MWCNTs content. Ultraviolet (UV)-vis spectroscopy methods were used to examine the optical characteristics, while the frequency-dependent AC conductivity of the nanocomposites films analyzed the dynamic behavior of ions and revealed improved ionic conductivity with higher GNPs/MWCNTs concentration.

Synthesis of carbon nanotubes/titanium dioxide and study of its effect on the optical, dielectric, and mechanical properties of polyvinyl alcohol/sodium alginate for energy storage devices

Haifa Mohammed Alghamdi et al.

Summary: The solvent casting technique was used to prepare polymer nanocomposites doped with MWCNTs/TiO2 in PVA/SA blend, resulting in modifications to the structure confirmed by XRD, FTIR, and TEM analyses. The optical energy gap of the polymer blend decreased with the addition of MWCNTs/TiO2. TGA revealed excellent thermal stability, enhanced AC conductivity and dielectric properties, as well as improved electrical and mechanical properties in the nanocomposites compared to pure PVA/SA blends.
