High interfacial thermal conductance across heterogeneous GaN/graphene interface

Dan Wu et al.

Summary: Gallium nitride (GaN)-based high-electron-mobility transistors (HEMTs) are of interest for high-power and high-frequency electronics applications, with the thermal management issue being a key focus. Research has shown that integrating multilayer graphene with GaN can significantly enhance the interfacial thermal conductance (ITC) across their interface. Factors such as point-defect concentration, external pressure, temperature, and h-BN intercalation can regulate ITC, providing important guidelines for improving device performance and reliability.

Controllable anisotropic thermoelectric properties in 2D covalent organic radical frameworks

Xuan-Hao Cao et al.

Summary: By combining density functional theory with the Boltzmann transport equation, the study investigated the thermoelectric properties of graphphenyl-based materials. It was found that breaking symmetry and twisting the phenyl ring can realize anisotropic thermoelectric properties, and rotating the phenyl ring can further enhance the performance of these materials. The results indicate excellent thermoelectric performance of the materials, two orders of magnitude higher than graphene, with a wide range of suitable working temperatures.

Tunable spin electronic and thermoelectric properties in twisted triangulene π-dimer junctions

Dan Wu et al.

Summary: This study investigates the electronic properties and thermoelectric performance of triangulene pi-dimer junctions with varying twist angles through first-principles calculations. It is found that the relative rotation between monomers can lead to different magnetic states, with outstanding thermoelectric performance observed at specific twist angles. The high ZT value of around 6 in ferromagnetic states is mainly attributed to spin splitting, indicating potential for improving thermoelectric properties in pi-stacking molecular junctions or organic polymers.
